Dr. Rishi Shah

Optometrist

Dr. Rishi Shah began his higher education at Nova Southeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. His passion for optometry blossomed during his undergraduate studies, leading him to pursue a Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry. Since graduating, Dr. Shah has practiced at various locations across South Florida and Northern Virginia, providing comprehensive eye care to diverse communities.

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Dr. Shah also has roots in Nepal, where his parents are from. He speaks English, Spanish, and Nepali and grew up surrounded by a family of optometrists, which inspired his commitment to eye care.

Dr. Shah is proud to serve the surrounding communities, including Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and other parts of South Florida, offering compassionate care and advanced treatments for patients of all ages. Over the years, he has developed a special interest in ocular disease, pediatric care, myopia management, and ortho-keratology—providing innovative treatments to slow myopia progression and improve vision quality. He also focuses on restoring vision and comfort for patients affected by refractive eye surgery, keratoconus, corneal transplant surgery, and other corneal conditions through the use of specialty contact lenses.

For fun, Dr. Shah enjoys cooking, photography, and playing with his Belgian Malinois, Kai. He occasionally rock climbs, camps with friends, and loves to exercise, exploring new workouts such as yoga and CrossFit.
